In addition to its waterproofing function, sheet membranes will protect against strong physical and chemical effects on reservoir structures, such as corrosion of reinforcement and leakage currents on cement substrates. At the very least, the sheet waterproofing membrane should be resistant to routine cleaning and maintenance procedures and should last for decades to fulfill its function.
